Police neglect and armed racist "Militia" plagued New Orleans during Katrina
Adding to the list of horrific events during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was a corrupt police force that had long targeted minority communities even before the hurricane and groups of racist and armed white residence that threatened and attacked local black citizens.
Activist Scott Crow and author of "Black Flags & Windmills" discussed with the RT network his efforts to protect and reassure frightened citizens after the storm, Crow went to New Orleans armed and joined with local black panther chapters in an effort to defend innocent African American residence.
This is just another stark reminder of what made Katrina so terrible. The largely African American population of New Orleans was essentially stripped of their citizenship.
